Having opened back in 1994, Stretton 2000 has seen many changes in its time. Originally just a karting circuit, the events expanded to cover paintballing and later quad-biking and off-roading. Having just extended the karting circuit by some 50%, the track is now one of the longest in the country with speeds among the very highest.
Built on the Leicester airport grounds, the circuit enjoys stunning open views and good access and communications. Originally a WWII storage construction, the Stretton 2000 building is distinctive while still in-keeping with the area. The paintball woods still contain some of the original bunkers used during the war, authenticity found nowhere else!

In 1999, Stretton 2000 built the off-road course close to the karting circuit extending down towards the perimeter of the aerodrome and taking in some of the steepest banks and watersplashes along the way. The off-road course is still one of the most challenging available, but recent changes to the karting circuit mean that alterations to the off-road course are required and until these are completed bookings are not being taken. In 2000, the main building saw a popular addition - 'The Pits' bar was added! Racers are often found in the bar explaining their fine drives, long after the races have finished. While we do not allow the sale of alcohol to those about to take part in events at Stretton 2000, the bar provides the ideal location for the post-race presentation and champagne drinking!

In 2002, we created a new fleet of karts, 15 in all and added to our existing racers we now had the ability to offer identical and reliable karts at all times. This year also saw the first stages of the circuit extension fall into place. Ground work was started and the ground leveled.

2003 saw the work continue on the extension and by late Spring, the tarmac was being put down and early summer saw the opening of the eagerly awaited Stretton 2000 circuit extension. The track is now some 800m+ and has an average speed of around 25m/s.

2004 saw a year of stabilisation for the circuit as the corporate side of the business continued to grow.

2005 was a great year for the circuit with the Sprint Championship becoming one of the biggest grids in the country, so much so, that a decision was taken to introduce a new Subaru class the the circuit to split the grid and make the event more manageable. Lots of changes were made to the fabric of the circuit and a programme of updates was introduced including improvements to the pit lane and paddock area's

2006 Saw the popularity of the series grow in addition to newly added Mini moto championships and events. A massive earth work programme was carried out to improve the sound proofing of the circuit in the face of local opposition and further improvements were made to the infrastructure of the business and the facilities, including a new Catering facilities, improvements to the garages and overspill parking area's.
